A 12-week independent, third-party clinical evaluation of 40 subjects with moderate to severe acne vulgaris. Subjects represented females ages 21-33 with Fitzpatrick skin types I-VI. Supported with the use of Gentle Cleanser and Sheer Fluid Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 during the study.

Directions

Due to the unique potency of Acne Complex, begin use gradually.

  • After Getting Skin Ready®, apply a thin layer 2-3 times/week.
  • Gradually increase to daily use as tolerated.
  • Pair with ZO’s Hydrating Crème to soothe + comfort skin.
  • Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or higher daily during initial retinol acclimation.
  • Provider monitoring is recommended.

Anticipated Reactions

Redness, flakiness, dryness, burning, or stinging are all normal, anticipated reactions when starting retinol. With regular product use, skin will acclimate, revealing a smoother, more even-toned and youthful-looking complexion. Pair your retinol with a ZO® functional hydrator to minimize anticipated reactions. Consult a physician for customized retinol protocol. Like prescription retinoic acid, retinol will make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Wear SPF 30 or higher daily.
